The BIG 35

My Mom took me and Lindsay out to dinner for my Birthday. We went to a Chinese Restaurant by my Mom's house. It was really good food, and it was nice to spend the evening with both Lindsay and my Mom.

Love & Laughter from ...

The girl in this picture ...that's Lindsay.
Lindsay makes me smile and laugh at the silliest things. Here in this picture, she's imitating Sally O' Malley (one of my favorite SNL character's). She took this picture and was kind enough to email it to me ... Some mom's get hand prints, poems, or something cutsie thier child has made ... But being the mom of a 16 year old I get text messages, emails, and the occasional picture that just makes me wanna pee my pants!

She's crazy... I like that. I love that she's so beautiful and she doesn't even know it. I love that she is always herself, no matter who's around. I love that she's a strong young lady and has a laugh that I love to hear. I love what she's made of and I love being her Mom ♥

MY WORD for the year ...

I've been thinking about a theme ... a vision ... a word for me to stick with this year in 2010. As I've been thinking, looking around on the internet, reading different blog pages, and getting inspiration from all around me I've been inspired and have decided on MY WORD for 2010

FAMILY

This year is all about Family to me. It's about building and strengthening the bonds within my own family ... reaching out to my extended family ... praying for a successful ♥ story of my own (with more kids of our own) ... You know, focusing on the people and things that matter most in life! I am so over the materialistic, hussle and bussle, things with no substance that take from my time, from my soul and give nothing in return. I have found such joy and such comfort in my family and I want to focus on FAMILY this year.

Temple in 2010

Today is my 35th Birthday. I'm having a few mixed emotions with how I'm feeling about turning another year older, and yet still not achieving some of the things in life that I thought I would have long surpassed by now. Don't get me wrong, I realize I have sooooo many things to be thankful for, and I have been blessed beyond belief ... but there is this sense of personal growth I feel have missed. I know where my short comings lie, and I have set some personal goals to get to the Temple this year.

Life has taken me on a few detours, I've had a few heartaches, made quite a few mistakes getting to this point in my life, but I know I am now headed in the right direction. I am so excited for the road that lies ahead. I love my Heavenly Father and I love the fact that he knows just EXACTLY what I need and knows when I need it. He loves me so much that he allows me to make U Turns and gives me the Grace that I need to make things right. He puts amazing people in my life to help me along the way and has blessed me with a family I love so much. ♥

what a difference in a year

I was looking at a picture of Lindsay from Christmas 2008 at Disneyland with her friend Alex ... and then I looked at a picture of Lindsay and Alex at Disneyland Christmas 2009. I can't believe how much Lindsay has matured, and grown, and just changed over the last year. No more braces ... make up ... 16 now! I miss my lil' girl.

Lindsay went motorcylce riding ...

Lindsay's New Year's weekend was spent with her Dad and friend Katie out dirtbike riding. She had a great time minus a few scrapes and bruises. Oh, and the part about how Katie's bike broke down and Lindsay left her stranded 2 miles away from the camp sight and then couldn't remember how to get back to her! Other then that ... it was a good time Ü. Lindsay's Dad lives out in Palm Springs so on the way back home the girls stopped by the Cabazon outlets and had a blast shopping.

2010 New Years Weekend

I was so lucky to get to spend New Years in Utah with Corey. I had actually tried to plan this BIG surprise, but it wasn't going very well and I ended up having to tell him about my weekend plans. It was either I tell him ahead of time or Corey would have ended up working 3 out of the 4 days I was there, and that would not have been fun. We got to spend time with family, played games (which is one of my favorite things to do as a family) had great dinners and quality time together. Corey's brother Michael and his wife Steph have the most adorable lil' girl: "Ms. Abby" who is 9 months old. I love seeing her when I visit and love getting a chance to hold her and play with her (I have to admit, one of the highlights of my visits) We also got a chance to hang out with our friends Tom and Leesha for dinner and cards one night. They have a sweet lil guy named Cam who is such a cutie patootie! His smile makes you wanna melt and he's such a good Baby. OK, seriously .... I could Blog all day about the Babies!

Corey and I took Matthew sledding one day for a few hours and I have to admit, it looked like sooooo much fun! I didn't do it (I know, I suck!) but next time I'll be prepared. Hey, I'm a California girl and allll that snow kinda scared me!

I so love this guy!

Matthew was a stud !

OHHHHHHH YEAH !!!!

On Sunday after Church Corey and I got to visit with my cousin Todd, his wife Jocelyn and thier lil' boy John Michael. Again, I could blog forever about how adorable he was because he laughed and smiled soooo much and he's such a happy Boy! It was the first time I'd seen Todd in about 20 years! WOW ... I didn't realize it was that long until I just typed it! I was always close wih my cousins Steph and Todd when we all lived in Whittier, Ca together so it was so nice to get to visit. Todd has such a great family and I am so happy we were able to visit.
