Happy 4th of July
I wasn't to thrilled with the way my dessert cake looked HOWEVER it tasted delicious. I followed the recipe to a "T" , but ran into a few hiccups when the cake stuck to the pan and I couldn't take them out of thier pans to stack and frost. All in all it worked out and for my first attempt at making it I was pretty happy.
We had Corey's family come over for a BBQ and some fireworks. I took a few pics of Beckham with the fireworks we bought. He was out by 7pm and never woke up to see the show.
Old Family Photos
I had some old family pictures that I wanted to share. Actually, I got a call from my Aunt Taria wondering Where in the helk the pictures came from? after I had posted one on FB. So, I thought I'd share all that I had on the Blog so that all of my family could see them.
A while ago I had been working on some Geneology, and asked my Grandma Shawcroft for some specific photos of my mom. She gave me an envelope marked Important Pictures and told me that the photos came from my Great Grandma Gert.
I wrote the caption under each picture exactly as it is written on the back of the photo.

home from my house on Christmas Monday
These pictures below were the actual photos I needed when I asked my Grandma Shawcroft for some pictures of my own mother as a young girl. Like I said, My Grandma gave me an envelope and it had all of the photos I've posted. These ones below are my favorite of my own mother because it shows so many cute lil personalities of my mom. THese photos below were in a seperate little folder and had nothing written on the back of each photo so I wrote my own caption in red.
I love this picture (which is the one I posted on FB)

Pictures of our home
My Mom has been busting my chops to see pictures of the house here in Utah. It's still a project in the works because we haven't come to a closure/agreement on buying or selling the house. The home we live in is the home that Corey was born in and raised in. His Grandparents have since passed away and the house has been left to Corey and his 2 sisters. The 3 of them are deciding on weather or not to list the house OR Corey and I possibly buying the home. Any which way, we have decided to stop putting $ in to the house and just do some basic cleaning and minor upgrades so that while we are living here it is comfortable and we're happy. Once we know for sure if we are buying the home we will continue to do major home improvements and dump some money in to it.
Until then ... Here are a few pictures of the upstairs (the home is a rambler and has a basement downstairs with a den, laundryroom, and 2 bedrooms). I also needed to post some pictures to get my Mother off my back (I love you mom)
These are pictures of our living room/family room:
And the kitchen (which we have some great ideas if we buy the house):
I love the double ovens, BUT it's really not safe to use the lower one because Beckham crawls and touches in to try and stand. I'm soooo nervouse when it's on and he's awake. I'd use the top one if I could, but it doesn't work)
This is the hallway entry :
which leads to the 2 bedrooms upstairs (I'm only showing Beckham's room) :
I will post some more pictures of the house as we get work done. It's a work in progress, but it's our home and we're all doing just fine !

Best seat in the house
When Beckham is watching something he likes ... He's focused. Case in point, see how he migrates to get the best seat in the house
a few disappointments
Beckham figured it would be fun to crawl under the table ... The problem is he can't figure out to bend his head down to get out from under it. He likes all 4 chairs under there to hold on to, but the fact that he gets stuck makes him so upset.
Another disappointment ... The toilet! Every time he manages to make his way down the hall and actually get in the bathroom to the toilet, I'm right behind him to pull him out. All that crawling and hard work for NOTHING!

piano time
So Beckham has now learned that when he pulls himself up to the piano that the keys actually make noise. He's very smart about feeling around to make sure I don't have the keys covered. Once he knows they're not ... it's music time
