Girls Camp 2010 "Oh The Places We'll Go"

This year was Lindsay's final year of Girls Camp. She has officially completed all 6 years and was a JC at last. It's tradition that the stake leaders take the JC's surfing the very first day of camp before all other campers arrive. SOOOO ... this was Lindsay's opportunity to learn a new skill, and she did great !

After surfing in the morning we finally arrived at Camp Metoche in Angeles Oaks at about 2 pm. The girls had a lot to do but most importantly was making the KIT costumes ( a KIT is the level right before a JC and basically a KIT becomes a JC's servant for the week of camp)

The week was off to a great start ... Lindsay and her other JC's bonded while they learned to get along, create skits, roll call, and run camp the way that only 16 year old girls can do ...

On Friday all of the girls got to go to the lake for some fun boating and sun. The weather was a lil' cold and windy but the girls had a blast !

After the Lake follows the traditional unforgettable food fight between the JC's and the KIT's. It's such a mess, but the girls have a blast. They spend about 10 minutes throwing chocolate pudding, whipped creme, chocolate syrup, and silly string. They follow up with a dip in the cold cold river to wash off. As always, the food fight was a success ... EVERY girl managed to be covered completely !

Saturday morning camp finally came to an end. Lindsay worked so hard this past week, and I am so proud of her. She grew in the Gospel which is what every Mom craves and prays for when it comes to our children. We got a chance for some Mom and Daughter bonding Which by far is the highlight for me every time we go. And Lindsay created memories she will ALWAYS have.

This was Lindsay's PSS group and a wonderful group of girls

Finally it was time to hand off the JC whistle to her KIT Cassandra.

Mr. and Mrs. Kiddle

What a great week for Corey and I. We were married on Wednesday June 16th and it was such a wonderful day. I am so lucky and so excited to see what lies ahead and what our lives together will hold. We have been so blessed to have found one another and have this wonderful Blessing of a new Baby Boy.

We were able to spend some time in Vegas relaxing and enjoying our time together. It was sad for us to have to say Good Bye after our week together, but we will be together again soon and I can't wait. I love my husband so much ...

Oh where Oh where have I been ????

WOW ... Has it really almost been THREE months since my last blog? My amazing Corey hasn't let me forget!!! But, seriously ... I love him for the extra push that I needed. So, let's catch up.

Since March of this year I have become a stay at home Mom (which has taken a bit getting use to but loving it so so much). Loosing my job in April was very scary, but from this tragedy I've been given the most wonderful gift, and for that I am so thankful.

Corey and Matthew came out to visit for a week in May while Ms. Lindsay went on a trip to New York. While Lindsay was visiting White Castle, catching a Mets Game, shopping, and checking out Time Square we were going to Disneyland, the beach, Sea World, and found out we'd be adding a little boy to our family. It was quite the week for all of us.

Lindsay went to her Junior Prom. She looked amazing and had a wonderful time. There was a group of about 20 couples who went in the limo and the dance itself was at House of Blues at downtown Disney. She also became an official licensed driver and has her very own car. It's been great seeing the independence and responsibility she now has. She's learning her boundaries and testing waters, and I as her Mom am along for the ride and so amazed and so proud of her maturity.

As for the newest addition ... Baby Beckham Kevin Kiddle is due to arrive on 10-10-10 and I am so excited to meet him. He's 1 1/2 pounds, growing and kicking and moving all about. I've had a great pregnancy (minus about 4 weeks during the 1st trimester, but even that wasn't that bad). I'm doing well, and enjoying this gift and the journey.

Next week, Corey and I are getting married on the 16th of June. We're counting the days and have a very simple but perfect ceremony planned in Las Vegas. We'll spend a few days there and then it's back to Utah for him and California for me. Not the ideal thought, but we're doing what we have to, and we're doing a damn good job! He's my strength and my biggest support and I love him to pieces.

Girls camp is calling for me and Lindsay on June 21st. I am soooo looking forward to this year because it will be the last year for both of us. Lindsay is now a JC and has completed all 6 years. She's had a blast, and loves going. I'm sad to see it end, but have been so blessed to have gotten the chance to go every year with her. One of the best weeks each and every year.

OK ... other then a few things I may have missed, I think I've touched on highlights. If I missed something it'll have to remain in my memory.

1...2...3 smile Ü

Yesterday I had an ultrasound. The lady doing the ultrasound was so sweet and so helpful. She pointed EVERYTHING out to me and explained lots and lots of glimpses we were getting. I even got to see on the color monitor the blood flowing thru, which was amazing. She must have spent a good 45 minutes with me. When the baby started to move around (doin' a little jig) she and I both started laughing. She'd push around to get the baby to "perform" some more and sure enough ... we'd get another little show. It was very cute. At the end she told me she was going to put pictures on a CD for me AND a few "performances" we got of the baby moving (or as I like to say dancin')!
